Hello everyone.
Wow. Who would have ever thought? It has been a year and a half and still we find ourselves in times that have not been seen before. From mandates placed on us by the County of Los Angeles and the State of California to worldwide shortages on products, supply chain constraints, logistical issues and a severe lack of staffing for most businesses, most small businesses are taking this new normal on a day by day basis. Scrapbooking Made Simple is no different as all of these challenges have severely impacted our business.
With that being said, I am Stacey, the owner of Scrapbooking Made Simple. I would like to take a few moments to update you as to what is happening both in our retail shop and our online store. As many of you are aware, SMS is a small independent retail store that also has an online presence. We are not unlike your local grocery, hair salon or diner as we know our customers by their first names. When we are at full staff, we have 14 employees including my husband and myself, each of us proud of what we contribute to our family owned business. We are currently less than half of what our staff was pre-pandemic. I will say that the pandemic we face is something that I take very seriously and the safety of my SMS Girls and Guys along with you, our customer, weighs heavy on my heart.
As the owner of the business, my staff and I will continue to work daily to ship orders out, answer phones and respond to emails. but there will be a substantial delay. We had begun to bring essential SMS Staff back to work, staggering their start dates and keeping an appropriate distance between workspace, providing necessary PPE for all, but we are once again are reduced to a handful of staff able to work filling online orders. This includes my two teenage sons who have me as their first boss :) Lucky them!
In addition, some manufacturers are delayed in shipping us the products we have ordered. As much as I would like, I cannot give you a time frame for shipping but please know we will continue to work towards getting all orders out just as soon as possible.
Scrapbooking Made Simple continues to accept orders acknowledging that there will be a substantial delay in shipping. Your support of this mom and pop shop means the world to us and I want to thank you in advance for the kindness you have shown my staff and I. I look forward to posting that we have returned to all systems go here at SMS. But until then, be safe, be well and be creative.
